How to prevent your PC from non-trusted network connections?

Surfing through the Internet without a proper defense is fraught with serious consequences for your system stability and data integrity. You may hear such a warning oftener and oftener these days. An attack is carried out by means of a connection that can be initiated either by a malware that hides somewhere on your hard disk or from the outer environment. AVS Firewall with its alert window enabled is a good and reliable choice to control all the connections preventing your computer from undesirable information request or gaining.

Click here to download it. After the download is finished, run the AVSFirewall.exe file and follow the installation wizard instructions.

Click the AVS Firewall system tray icon to make its window visible:

Or choose AVS4YOU -> System Utilities -> AVS Firewall from the Programs section of the Start menu in case AVS Firewall is unloaded.

Then press the Settings tab and make sure Show Alert Window is checked:

Note: if the Show Alert Window option is unchecked, do not forget to click the Save settings button after checking it.

When a new connection is initiated the Alert Window will appear suggesting to decide whether to let it pass or reject. Consider the connection carefully before giving a permission, then in case you trust the connection, click the Allow button otherwise click the Deny button:

Note: the Create a permanent rule option checked does exactly what its title says - adds a connection rule with a permission you gave. The corresponding rule can be found on the Network Rules tab page.

In this way, AVS Firewall informs you about all the connections occured but at the same time it's you who decide which connection is suspicious and must be rejected.
