AVS Audio Converter - MP3 Profile Editor
MP3 Profile Editor allows you to select one of the available MP3 conversion profiles as well as to set such MP3 audio parameter combinations that are not listed in default conversion profiles. Click the to MP3 button on the Top Toolbar of AVS Audio Converter Main Window and press the Edit Profile button to open the MP3 Profile Editor window.

MP3 Profile Editor functions:
Selecting an Existing Profile
To select one of the default MP3 conversion profiles, please press the arrow in the Profile field and pick up a profile from the drop-down menu. The same can be done within the AVS Audio Converter Main Window in the Select Preset field.
Adjusting Default Settings
To create your own profile you'll need to change at least one of the parameters listed below the Profile field. You can change the following audio track parameters within the MP3 Profle Editor window:
- Sample Rate.
This value (also referred to as Sampling Rate or Sampling Frequency) defines the number of samples (values at a point of time) per second taken from a continuous analogue signal to make it a discrete digital signal. Press the arrow next to the Sample Rate field to open the drop-down menu and select one of the available Sample Rate values. Setting a higher Sample Rate value improves audio file quality and increases its size.
- Bitrate.
This is the number of bits that are transferred or processed per second. Press the arrow next to the Bitrate field to open the drop-down menu and select one of the available Bitrate values. Setting a higher Bitrate value improves audio file quality and increases its size.
- Channels.
Press the arrow next to the Channels field to open the drop-down menu and select one of the available sound systems – Mono or Stereo.
Note: if your original audio files were recorded with a sound type different from
Mono or
Stereo (e. g.
5.1 Surround Sound), they will be converted as
Stereo by default.
Press the Advanced button if you wish to adjust more MP3 settings. For more info on how to do it, please follow the link below:

Saving Changes as a New Profile
You can save the parameters set in the MP3 Profile Editor window as a new profile to be able to use it each time you convert audio tracks. To do that, press the Save as Profile button and enter the name for the new profile in the opened Profile Name window:

The Save as Profile button will be enabled as soon as you change at least one of the default Sample Rate, Channels or Bitrate settings. The new profile will be avaiablable in the list of default conversion profiles after you save it as described above. To delete the profile, select it with the mouse in the list of profiles and press Delete.
Note: we do not guarantee good conversion results if you change any of the default settings within the
MP3 Profile Editor window. Therefore, it is advisable to use profile editors only in case you are well-experienced in audio conversion. We recommend you to use one of the
default conversion profiles from the
Select Preset field of
AVS Audio Converter Main Window if you are new to audio conversion. Our programmers created profiles with well-balanced audio parameters that will ensure good guality conversion results.
