Sometimes you might have video or audio files on your mobile phone (e.g. videos shot with the phone in-built camera) that you would like to copy to your Apple iPod. It is usually necessary to save them to some place on your personal computer and afterwards upload to the iPod.
AVS iDevice Explorer having a very simple and friendly interface saves your time and computer hard disk space. All you need to do is connect your iPod to your personal computer using a USB cable, your mobile phone using any available means of connection - USB cable (if either the mobile phone or its memory card is seen by the Windows as a storage device), Bluetooth or Infrared adapter, start AVS iDevice Explorer program and copy the necessary files from the mobile to the Apple iPod just like in any other file manager. You will not need any space on your personal computer as the files will be copied directly from one device to the other with no temporary files created.

Use USB cables to connect the Apple iPod to your personal computer and some means of connection for your mobile phone - USB cable or Bluetooth or Infrared adapter (please note, that you will need to use Microsoft Windows XP with service pack 2 or a later Microsoft Windows system for such adapters). Please make sure that you do not run Apple iTunes program so that there were no conflict of two programs trying to get access to the same iPod at the same time. After that run AVS iDevice Explorer. It will start with the following window:

Note, that you can change the program look so that it could suit you needs and taste better using the Show Tree
and Horizontal/Vertical splitting
buttons to do that:

Now you can select the devices in the devices list. Use the drop down boxes or folders trees to find the Apple iPod and mobile phone:

After you found your devices in the list, you should select the files and folders to be uploaded and the destination folder on the iPod:

Note, that some devices would not understand and playback certain types of files (e.g. audio, video) if they are not placed in the correct folder on this device - i.e. Music or Video folder or alike. Such devices usually have an Inbox folder in their folder structure, so if you are not sure where to place a file, you can copy it into the device Inbox folder and the device will relocate the file into the correct folder itself.
You can also create a folder if it does not exist, using the New Folder
button or rename an existing one, using the Rename
button. The selection can be done just like in Windows explorer - with the mouse buttons or using the keyboard.

Click the Copy button
to start the copying process or simply drag-and-drop the files and folders from one panel to the other. Note that it might take some time if the size of the files is large:

Please note that in case the video or audio format is not supported by the target device - Apple iPod in our case, AVS iDevice Explorer will ask you whether it should convert it into a compatible format:

If you agree to convert the file, the program will show the conversion progress for you:

Please note, that in case you decline the file conversion, the selected file will be uploaded to the selected device anyway but in this case there is a possibility that the device will be unable to playback the uploaded file.
Once the conversion is over, the uploading will continue automatically.
And that's it!
After the uploading is done you can upload more files or finish the work with AVS iDevice Explorer.
Note: being connected to your personal computer your iPod will show the message of the type:

You can still disconnect your iPod from the computer, no data will be lost in case you haven't tried to copy it to iPod using some other software.
