To select your DVD you will need to insert it into the DVD drive (please make sure that your computer disc drive supports the disc of the type used - DVD-ROM, DVD-RAM, DVD±R/RW, DVD±R/RW DL) and run AVS DVD Player. After the program starts, please use the Source button to select the DVD disc in the drive:

Please note, that you can playback the DVD not only directly from a disc, but also from a folder on your computer HDD. To do that simply select Open DVD from Folder option in the Source menu. After that select the folder where the DVD files are stored:

If your DVD contains more than one audio language, you might want to select between them during playback. Moreover, some DVDs contain the same audio language recorded in different formats and it might be useful to select the track of the right format so that your computer sound card and acoustic system could playback the movie with the best result. You can select the audio language that will be used during playback in the DVD language selection menu, or during the video playback simply click the right mouse button within the player area and select Audio Language option and then the necessary audio language or audio track:

The same way the subtitles are selected (if your DVD has some): either use the DVD subtitle menu to set the subtitle display mode, or during playback click the rigth mouse button within the player area and select Subtitle and then the necessary language:

And that's not all yet. If you want to further increase the impression from the movie, you will need to setup your audio environment correctly. You can do that in two ways:
Move yourself in your room so that the distance between you and all the speakers were the same;
Or use the Speaker Calibration feature of the AVS DVD Player. For the latter use the right mouse button within the player area and select Speaker Configuration -> Calibration... option:

The following window will be opened:

To change the position of the spectator within the room, simply drag the image of the person with the mouse cursor within the room representation. Note, that you can also change the number of the speakers used and their configuration in the upper part of the window, set the proper room width and length.
As you can see, watching a DVD movie can be as easy as that and just comfortable as well.
