Introduction

If your friend has got some files on an Apple iPod and you would like to copy them to your own iPod, it is usually necessary to save them to some place on your personal computer and afterwards upload to the other iPod.

AVS iDevice Explorer having a very simple and friendly interface saves your time and computer hard disk space. All you need to do is connect your two iPods to your personal computer using USB cables, start AVS iDevice Explorer program and copy the necessary files from one iPod to the other just like in any other file manager. You will not need any space on your personal computer as the files will be copied directly from one device to the other with no temporary files created.

Step 2: Connect your iPods and run AVS iDevice Explorer

Use USB cables to connect the Apple iPods to your personal computer. It will start with the following window:

Note, that some devices would not understand and playback certain types of files (e.g. audio, video) if they are not placed in the correct folder on this device - i.e. Music or Video folder or alike. Such devices usually have an Inbox folder in their folder structure, so if you are not sure where to place a file, you can copy it into the device Inbox folder and the device will relocate the file into the correct folder itself.

You can also create a folder if it does not exist, using the New Folder New Folder button button or rename an existing one, using the Rename Rename button button. The selection can be done just like in Windows explorer - with the mouse buttons or using the keyboard.

After the uploading is done you can upload more files or finish the work with AVS iDevice Explorer.

Note!Note: being connected to your personal computer your iPod will show the message of the type:

You can still disconnect your iPod from the computer, no data will be lost in case you haven't tried to copy it to iPod using some other software.
